The purpose of the effort described in this report was to obtain quantitative earth background radiance data in the spectral range 300 millimicrons to 1300 millimicrons. A Czerney-Turner spectroradiometer was modified to cover the desired spectral range and was operated using an X-15 airplane flying at high altitude as a test bed. Data obtained on four flights are detailed in the report. (Author)
