The aim of this report is to suggest changes in geometric and physical layout, legislation, enforcement practices, training of children, and other educational activities to improve the safety of pedestrians in the State of Maine. The report includes a thorough review of literature and analysis of crashes, interviews with pedestrians of different ages and abilities as well as interviews with planner and engineers.
