Within the framework of the Earthnet Program and the Memorandum of Understanding between ESA and NASA, the French Space Meteorology Center is acquiring, archiving, and preprocessing data from NASA's Heat-Capacity Mapping Mission (HCMM) spacecraft. The data from the HCMM support scientific investigations to establish the feasibility of using thermal infrared measurements of the Earth's surface to determine soil thermal inertia.
