The statement proposes the acquisition of limited access right-of-way, grading, interchanges, bridges and ultimate dual lane paving of Route 65 for a total length of approximately 7.5 miles, extending from north of Warsaw to the south of Warsaw. The project will provide a needed ultimate four lane limited access facility around Warsaw. The project will: Result in a direct fiscal benefit to some road users; Require the reassignment of approximately 250 acres to a transportation corridor; Affect 9 families containing approximately 31 people and 1 business; Reduce the air and noise pollution along the existing corridor of route 65 by transferring a portion of the traffic to relocated Route 65; Temporarily pollute ground and water due to the actual construction; Have some slight negative effect on wildlife; Destroy some existing ground cover; Cause some temporary tax loss to Benton County, the city of Warsaw and the local school district; and Require the irretrievable commitment of certain resources.
