Presented are the results of a study of the causes of accidents which resulted in disabling injuries to carpenters. Over 9,000 records of disabling injuries in the files of 9 State workmen's compensation agencies were examined. All injuries occurred during 1948 or 1949. Descriptions of 74 typical accidents with recommendations for preventing them are included. Statistical tables contain information about the number of injuries by part of body injured, agency (source) of injury, type of accident, hazardous working condition, unsafe act, and activity of injured at time of injury.
