The project consists of the installation of a medium intensity runway lighting system on runway 8-26 and the relocation of the existing medium intensity approach lighting system (MALS), from runway 32 to runway 26. The installation of both of these lighting systems is proposed to enhance the safety of aircraft operations on runway 8-26 during periods of limited visibility and to minimize the aircraft circling times in the environs of the airport.
