Air Force and Defense Logistics Agency managers are spending millions of dollars buying and repairing unneeded items and are failing to control critical items in the inventory because of poor coordination of modification programs. Also, the Department of Defense needs to emphasize the need for the military services to better coordinate modification programs with the Defense Logistics Agency.
