The project begins east of Martinsville on new location from Route 58 to a point just east of the intersection of Secondary Route 925. Construction of the project will benefit the local area by providing a safer facility; the majority of the traffic will pass through to other local destinations. Noise and air pollution should be decreased slightly since the project itself will not generate additional traffic. The general impact of the proposed project on the environment should be good, although it is anticipated that five families and two businesses will be displaced. The acquisition of additional right-of-way and the interference with adjacent property is unavoidable; however, grades have been designed so as to cause minimum damage. The plans provide for flattened slopes for a more pleasing appearance.
