An in-arm suspension unit was developed for retrofit onto a Marine Corps Assault Amphibian Vehicle. The hydropneumatic system utilizes nitrogen gas for springing and multiple wet brake plates for dampening. The system offers twelve inch jounce, five inch rebound, and 3.5g loading for a static load of 6200 pounds. Hydropneumatic suspension, Suspension systems, Military vehicles. (jes)
