The Innovative Dredging Equipment and Processes Technology focus area of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Dredging Operations and Environmental Research program is being conducted at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES). This focus area will demonstrate and document emerging dredging and disposal technologies available from both domestic and foreign dredging interests for application to Corps dredging projects. Most advances in the dredging industry are modifications to existing equipment. Very infrequently, a new dredging concept is developed. The Punaise is new dredging technology which has not yet operated in the United States.
