A new frame level MPEG-4 VBR video traffic model which is based on spatial renewal process (SRP) and multinomial distribution (MM) is proposed. Existing frame level models often ignore the correlation between I, P and B frames. In contrast, the proposed model utilises the correlation to improve the model accuracy. Simulated results show that the proposed model predicts packet loss performance accurately.
