Dynamic visualization of mitochondria within cardiomyocytes using third harmonic generation microscopy reveals intensity fluctuations similar to those seen in fluorescence microscopy. These changes bring a photobleaching free method for physiological investigations of mitochondria in cardiomyocytes.
