The highly automated aircraft system has caused great changes in the way that the crew operate the aircrafts, but many problems have arisen in the interaction between humans and the system. This paper analyzes the reasons for the application of automation, discusses the characteristics and relationships of the four levels of automation, based on the design and research of automation system, a conclusion can be drawn that high degree of automation may bring problems in aspects of reliability, trust, workload and situational awareness, flight skills, personnel cooperation. With the continuous advancement of aircraft automation systems, it will be necessary to design functions, missions and programs at the system level in the future.
