The paper reports on the study of intense femtosecond laser delivery through small-core, 320-/spl mu/m hollow fibers and through large core graded-index optical fibers. The work also demonstrates the feasibility of endoscopic cancer treatment with PDT excited by fiber delivered, intense Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser pulses. The Ti:sapphire laser excitation of photofrin and indocyanine green (ICG) is studied in vitro experiment.
