Vegetation is particularly important in urban environments because it is linked to human health and enhances quality of life. In this paper, we discuss the process of vegetation estimation in urban environments from satellite imagery and aim to create a method to estimate vegetation cover using publicly available satellite imagery, open-source software, and libraries. We also looked at computational resources. Our goal is to create a method that can be trained and used on an average workstation.
