Abstract

An apparatus configured to be removably attached to a tire/hub assembly of a vehicle via lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly is used to determine imbalance forces of the tire/hub assembly during motion of the vehicle. The apparatus includes a disk and a plurality of cup-shaped objects fixed at one end to the disk and extending perpendicularly outward from the disk. The plurality of cup-shaped objects are arranged a fixed radial distance from a radial center of the disk in a pattern that matches the lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The apparatus is mounted to the vehicle's tire/hub assembly by fitting the plurality of cup-shaped objects over the lug nuts of the tire/hub assembly. The apparatus further includes one or more inertial measurement units (IMU's) mounted to the disk to measure parameters that are used for calculating the imbalance forces during motion of the vehicle.

L'invention concerne un appareil configuré pour être fixé de manière amovible à un ensemble pneu/moyeu d'un véhicule par l'intermédiaire d'écrous de roue de l'ensemble pneu/moyeu, qui est utilisé pour déterminer des forces de déséquilibre de l'ensemble pneu/moyeu au cours du déplacement du véhicule. L'appareil comprend un disque et une pluralité d'objets en forme de coupelle fixés sur une extrémité au disque et s'étendant perpendiculairement vers l'extérieur par rapport au disque. La pluralité d'objets en forme de coupelle sont agencés à une distance radiale fixe depuis un centre radial du disque selon un motif qui correspond aux écrous de roue de l'ensemble pneu/moyeu. L'appareil est monté sur l'ensemble pneu/moyeu du véhicule par l'ajustement de la pluralité d'objets en forme de coupelle sur les écrous de roue de l'ensemble pneu/moyeu. L'appareil comprend en outre une ou plusieurs unités de mesure inertielle (IMU) montées sur le disque pour mesurer des paramètres qui sont utilisés pour calculer les forces de déséquilibre au cours du déplacement du véhicule.
