An objective of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for opening and closing a vehicle door which can conveniently select a swing mode and a sliding mode. The apparatus for opening and closing a vehicle door comprises: a vehicle door having a main latch coupling a main striker mounted on a vehicle body to be released; a rail mounted on the vehicle body; a roller unit mounted on the vehicle door, and configured to allow the vehicle door to be opened and closed in one mode selected between a sliding mode of sliding along the rail and a swing mode of swing at a fixed position of the rail; and an outside handle functionally connected to the main latch, and including a handle base mounted on the vehicle door and a handle grip movably mounted on the handle base. The handle grip can slide in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and pivot in the width direction of the vehicle. As the handle grip slides, the sliding mode is selected. As the handle grip pivots, the swing mode is selected.
개시된 차량도어 개폐장치는, 차체에 장착된 메인스트라커를 해제가능하게 결합하는 메인래치를 가진 차량도어; 상기 차체에 장착된 레일; 상기 차량도어에 장착되고, 상기 차량도어가 상기 레일을 따라 슬라이드하는 슬라이딩모드 및 상기 레일의 정해진 위치에서 스윙하는 스윙모드 중에서 선택된 어느 하나의 모드로 개폐됨을 허용하도록 구성된 롤러유닛; 및 상기 메인래치에 기능적으로 연결되고, 상기 차량도어에 장착된 핸들베이스 및 상기 핸들베이스에 이동가능하게 장착된 핸들 그립을 포함한 아웃사이드핸들;을 포함할 수 있다. 상기 핸들 그립은 차량의 길이방향을 따라 슬라이드가능하고 차량의 폭방향을 따라 피벗가능하게 구성될 수 있다. 상기 핸들 그립이 슬라이드함에 따라 상기 슬라이딩모드가 선택되고, 상기 핸들 그립이 피벗함에 따라 상기 스윙모드가 선택되도록 구성될 수 있다.
