The present invention relates to an apparatus for providing an around view monitoring (AVM) image for a trailer truck which prevents separate error information from being included even if a trailer and a tractor of a trailer truck are separated and rotated. A method for providing an AVM image of the apparatus for providing an AVM image for a trailer truck having front cameras and rear cameras dispersed and arranged on a trailer and a tractor of a trailer truck comprises: a step of changing a tractor rotating angle and using the front cameras and the rear cameras to repeatedly generate a front image and a rear image; a step of extracting a front coordinate system from the first or second front image, a rear reference coordinate system from the first rear image, and a rear comparison coordinate system from the second rear image, and then extracting a rotational center axis between a front image and a rear image from a geometric correlation between the coordinate systems; a step of overlaying and arranging a new front image and rear image based on a rotational center axis between a front image and a rear image if the front image and the rear image are newly acquired as the trailer truck runs; and a step of rotating and image-stitching one of a front image and a rear image around the rotational center axis whenever the tractor rotating angle is changed to acquire and output an AVM image.
