The present invention relates to a hybrid vehicle and a method for performing temperature control therefor, and more particularly, to a mode change control method capable of efficiently performing heating in a cold environment by predicting a vehicle stop, and a hybrid vehicle for performing the same. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the mode change control method of a hybrid vehicle includes the steps of: receiving an engine operation request from a full automatic temperature controller (FATC); determining whether entry into a first hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) mode in which an engine power is used as a driving force is possible; determining whether a predicted stop time is less than or equal to a predetermined time when the entry into the first HEV mode is impossible; and disallowing entry into a second HEV mode in which the engine power is used for generating electricity when the predicted stop time is less than or equal to the predetermined time.

본 발명은 하이브리드 자동차 및 그를 위한 공조 제어 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세히는 정차 예측을 통해 보다 효율적으로 냉간시 난방을 수행할 수 있는 모드 전환 제어 방법 및 그를 수행하기 위한 하이브리드 자동차에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 하이브리드 자동차의 모드 전환 제어 방법은, 자동 온도 제어기(FATC)로부터 엔진 기동 요청을 수신하는 단계; 엔진 동력을 구동력으로 이용하는 제1 HEV 모드의 진입 가능 여부를 판단하는 단계; 상기 제1 HEV 모드의 진입이 불가할 경우, 정차 예상 시간이 소정 시간 이하인지 여부를 판단하는 단계; 및 상기 정차 예상 시간이 상기 소정 시간 이하인 경우, 엔진 동력을 발전에 이용하는 제2 HEV 모드의 진입을 불허하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
