An apparatus for driving a cleaning robot for a hull and a driving method thereof are provided. The apparatus for driving a cleaning robot for a hull comprises: a drive pattern detecting unit detecting current drive pattern information when the apparatus cleans by being driven on a side of hull to a portion adjacent to a bilge keel; a drive pattern determining unit determining whether the apparatus is driven for the current drive pattern information to correspond to preset standard drive pattern information by receiving the current drive pattern information detected by the drive pattern detecting unit; and a drive pattern correcting unit correcting the current pattern information for the apparatus to drive according to the standard drive pattern information if the drive pattern determining unit determines that the current drive pattern information is out of the standard drive pattern information in the drive pattern determining unit.

    본 발명은 선체 측면을 빌지 킬(bilge keel)의 인근 부분까지 주행하여 청소할 때에, 현재 주행 패턴 정보를 감지하는 주행 패턴 감지부와; 주행 패턴 감지부에서 감지한 현재 주행 패턴 정보를 공급받아 현재 주행 패턴 정보가 이미 설정된 기준 주행 패턴 정보에 맞춰 주행하고 있는지를 판단하는 주행 패턴 판단부; 및 주행 패턴 판단부에서 현재 주행 패턴 정보가 기준 주행 패턴 정보를 벗어난 것으로 판단할 경우, 현재 주행 패턴 정보를 기준 주행 패턴 정보에 맞춰 주행하도록 현재 주행 패턴 정보를 보정하는 주행 패턴 보정부를 포함하는 선체용 청소 로봇 주행 장치 및 그 주행 방법을 제공한다.
