To provide a method for producing a rubber composition containing a rubber component and a vulcanizing chemical which can improve the productivity by efficiently achieving the uniform dispersion of raw materials, and a method for producing a tire using a rubber composition produced by the production method.SOLUTION: A method for producing a rubber composition, including a kneading step in which a closed kneader having a kneading chamber, a rotor installed inside the kneading chamber, and a ram weight to pressurize the kneading chamber is used to knead a raw material that comprises a rubber component and a vulcanizing chemical comprising a vulcanization accelerator. In the kneading step, the ram weight starts pressurizing after a lapse of five seconds or longer following the start of kneading.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
