To provide an occupant protection device which achieves improvement of protection performance of an occupant seated on a seat.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device is provided at a seat 1 having a seating surface part 20 on which a thigh F and a hip B are placed and a backrest part 30 which contacts with a back of an occupant. The occupant protection device includes: a tether part 50 which is provided spanning between a front part of the seating surface part and an upper part of the backrest part at a side part of the seat; a bag part 60 which is provided at the tether part and deployed by a deployment gas being introduced thereto; collision detection parts 101, 200 which detect or predict a collision of a vehicle; and an occupant protection control unit 100 which causes the tether part to generate tensile force and causes the bag part to deploy according to the detection or the prediction of the collision detected by the collision detection parts. The bag part is arranged to overlap with the tether part when viewed from the side surface side of the occupant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】シートに着座した乗員の保護性能を向上した乗員保護装置を提供する。【解決手段】大腿部Ｆ及び臀部Ｂが載置される座面部２０、及び、乗員の背部と接するバックレスト部３０を有するシート１に設けられる乗員保護装置を、シートの側部において、座面部の前部とバックレスト部の上部との間にわたして設けられたテザー部５０と、テザー部に設けられ展開用ガスを導入されることで展開するバッグ部６０と、車両の衝突を検知又は予測する衝突検出部１０１，２００と、衝突検出部による前記衝突の検知又は予測に応じて、テザー部に張力を発生させかつバッグ部を展開させる乗員保護制御部１００とを備え、バッグ部は、乗員の側面側から見たときに、テザー部と重畳するよう配置される構成とする。【選択図】図３
