To enhance more the safety of traffic by performing driving control of the own vehicle by more correctly recognizing a position of an object included in an image.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device according to an embodiment comprises: an imaging unit which images a periphery of an own vehicle; a recognition unit which recognizes a peripheral situation of the own vehicle; a driving control unit which controls one or both of speed and steering of the own vehicle on the basis of the recognition result of the recognition unit; and a control unit which controls the driving control unit on the basis of an imaging content of the imaging unit. The control unit sets relative position information to the own vehicle for an object existing in the periphery of the own vehicle existing in a two-dimensional image captured by the imaging unit and corrects the recognition result by the recognition unit on the basis of the set relative position information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

【課題】画像に含まれる物体の位置をより正確に認識して自車両の運転制御を行って、交通の安全性をより向上させること。【解決手段】実施形態の車両制御装置は、自車両の周辺を撮像する撮像部と、前記自車両の周辺状況を認識する認識部と、前記認識部の認識結果に基づいて前記自車両の速度または操舵のうち一方または双方を制御する運転制御部と、前記撮像部の撮像内容に基づいて前記運転制御部を制御する制御部と、を備え、前記制御部は、前記撮像部により撮像された二次元画像上に存在する前記自車両の周辺に存在する物体に対して、前記自車両との相対位置情報を設定し、設定した相対位置情報に基づいて、前記認識部による認識結果を補正する。【選択図】図１
