To provide a power supply unit that can safely supply fuel in a relatively short time, and its control method.SOLUTION: A power supply unit 1 includes a fuel tank 3 that stores hydrogen fuel, a fuel cell 4 connected to the fuel tank 3 via a pipe p1, an outer shell structure 5 in which the fuel tank 3 and the fuel cell 4 are arranged, and a terminal 6 connected to the fuel cell 4 via a cable c1 and arranged outside the outer shell structure 5. After the power supply unit 1 is removed from the target cargo handling equipment, another power supply unit 1 is installed in the target cargo handling equipment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

【課題】燃料の供給を比較的短時間で且つ安全に行える電源ユニットおよびその制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】電源ユニット１が、水素燃料を貯留する燃料タンク３と、この燃料タンク３にパイプｐ１を介して連結される燃料電池４と、燃料タンク３および燃料電池４が内側に配置される外殻構造体５と、燃料電池４にケーブルｃ１を介して接続されていて外殻構造体５の外側に配置される端子６とを備えていて、対象となる荷役機器から電源ユニット１が除去された後に、別の電源ユニット１が対象となる荷役機器に設置される。【選択図】図２
