To provide a display apparatus, a display control method, and a program which are able to improve visibility.SOLUTION: A display apparatus includes: a light projection device for projecting light including an image; an optical mechanism which is provided on a path of the light and can adjust a distance from a prescribed position to a position where the light is formed as a virtual image; a control device for controlling the light projection device; and a vanishing point estimation device for detecting a vanishing point of a travel lane of a vehicle. When a distance between a gazing point of an occupant of the vehicle and the vanishing point estimated by the vanishing point estimation device is less than a prescribed distance, the control device corrects a position of the formed image on the basis of an external environment of the vehicle. When the distance between the gazing point and the vanishing point is equal to or greater than the prescribed distance, the control device restrains the correction of the position of the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

【課題】視認性を向上させることができる表示装置、表示制御方法、およびプログラムを提供すること。【解決手段】画像を含む光を投射する投光装置と、前記光の経路上に設けられ、所定の位置から前記光が虚像として形成される位置までの距離を調節可能な光学機構と、前記投光装置を制御する制御装置と、車両の走行車線の消失点を検出する消失点推定装置と、を備え、前記制御装置は、前記車両の乗員の注視点と、前記消失点推定装置により推定された前記消失点との距離が所定距離未満である場合に、前記車両の外部環境に基づいて形成される画像の位置を補正し、前記注視点と前記消失点との距離が所定距離以上である場合に、前記画像の位置の補正を抑制する、表示装置である。【選択図】図４
