To provide a display device, a display control method, and a program that are able to improve visibility.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a projection device that projects light containing an image; an optical mechanism provided on a path for the light and that can adjust a distance from a predetermined position to a position where the light is formed into a virtual image; and a control device that controls the projection device. In a case where a distance between a gazing point of a rider of the vehicle and a disappearing point of a traveling traffic lane of the vehicle is shorter than a predetermined distance, the control device corrects the position of an image formed based on an external environment of the vehicle. In a case where the distance between the gazing point and the disappearing point is equal to or longer than the predetermined distance, the control device inhibits correction of the position of the image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
