To provide an occupant protection device capable of suppressing a seating state which makes appropriately performing impact absorption by an airbag possibly difficult, due to that the inferior limb of an occupant moves forward at collision, regardless of a seating state of an occupant.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device includes a seat belt having a shoulder part. The occupant protection device includes: driving means for winding and delivering the shoulder part; first detection means for detecting collision or collision possibility of a vehicle; second detection means for detecting change in a seating state of an occupant; and control means for controlling drive of the driving means. The control means controls the driving means so as to wind the shoulder part, stop winding or deliver the shoulder part, and controls the driving means so as to re-wind the shoulder part on the basis of change in a seating state detected by the second detection means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】衝突時に乗員の下肢が前方に移動することでエアバッグなどによる衝撃吸収などを適切に行うことが困難に成り得る着座状態になることを、乗員の着座状態によらずに抑制可能な乗員保護装置を提供すること。【解決手段】ショルダ部を有するシートベルトを備える乗員保護装置であって、ショルダ部の巻取り及び繰出しを行う駆動手段と、車両の衝突又は衝突可能性を検知する第1検知手段と、乗員の着座状態の変化を検知する第2検知手段と、駆動手段の駆動を制御する制御手段と、を備え、制御手段は、車両の衝突又は衝突可能性が検知されると、ショルダ部の巻取りと、巻取りの停止又はショルダ部の繰出しとを行うように駆動手段を制御すると共に、第2検知手段によって検知された着座状態の変化に基づいて、ショルダ部の再度の巻取りを行うように駆動手段を制御する、乗員保護装置。【選択図】図3
