PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve occupant protection performance.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device 10 has an upper and lower airbag 23 which is extended from the upper part of at least a shoulder part of an occupant seated on a sheet 4 of an automobile 1 to the lower part. In the upper and lower airbag 23, an extension tip part 27 is bent in the front side of the upper body of the occupant seated on the sheet 4 toward a lower back of the occupant during extension. The extension tip part 27 is brought into contact with the front of the occupant seated on the seat 4 during extension in a state in which the upper and lowe airbag 23 is bent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
【課題】乗員保護性能を更に改善する。【解決手段】乗員保護装置１０は、自動車１のシート４に着座した乗員の少なくとも肩部より上方から下方へ展開する上下エアバッグ２３を有する。上下エアバッグ２３は、展開中に、シート４に着座した乗員の上体の前側において展開先端部２７が乗員の腰部へ向かうように撓む。展開先端部２７は、上下エアバッグ２３が撓んだ状態で、展開中にシート４に着座した乗員の前に接触する。【選択図】図５
