PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an occupant protection function different from that of a present automobile when a vehicle like an automobile is in automatic operation.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device 10 of an automobile 1 includes: a seat 4 on which an occupant sits in a vehicle; and an air bag device 14 having a front air bag 15 to be developed in front of an upper body of the occupant sitting on the seat 4. The front air bag 15 is developed so as to receive the upper body that is moved in front of a seating position of the seat 4. In the developed state, shoulder receiving recesses 15D are formed in such a manner that in a part which shoulders of the upper body that moves in front of the seating position comes into contact with, the shoulders are put in the shoulder receiving recesses.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

【課題】自動車といった車両では、たとえば自動運転中において現在の自動車とは異なる乗員保護機能を持たせる必要性がある。【解決手段】自動車１の乗員保護装置１０は、車両内で乗員が着座するシート４と、シート４に着座した乗員の上体の前に展開するフロントエアバッグ１５を有するエアバッグ装置１４と、を有する。フロントエアバッグ１５は、シート４の着座位置より前へ移動していた上体を受けるように展開し、展開した状態で、着座位置より前へ移動していた上体の肩が当接する部位において肩が入り込むことができる肩受凹部１５Ｄを形成する。【選択図】図４
