PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unmanned underwater transportation means (UUV) having multi-axis control and the ability to simultaneously control movement in multiple degrees of freedom, although a conventional unmanned underwater transportation means (UUV) only has limited maneuverability.SOLUTION: A propulsion system has an inlet formed in a body, and the inlet facilitates fluid (for example, water) being drawn into a UUV from the fluid surrounding the outside of the body. The propulsion system also has a duct in fluid communication with the inlet, and the duct is configured to direct the fluid along a flow path. The propulsion system further has a pump operable with the duct and controls flowing of the fluid passing through the duct to increase the velocity of the fluid or at least facilitate active flowing of the fluid passing through the duct. In addition, the propulsion system has a nozzle in fluid communication with the duct to receive the fluid, and the nozzle is supported near a side of the body and is configured to movably redirect the fluid to the outside of the UUV.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
