PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detector which can reduce the gap of timing of detecting a rotational angle signal to be sent to a controller and a rotation number signal, and an electrically-driven power steering device using the rotation detector.SOLUTION: A rotation detector 1 has sensor elements 601 and 602 detecting rotations of a motor unit 10. A circuit unit 610 has a rotational angle operation unit 614 for operating a rotational angle θm of the motor unit 10 based on the detected value of the sensor element 601. A rotation number operating unit 615 calculates the number of rotations (TC) of the motor unit 10 based on the detected value of the sensor element 601. A communication unit 619 sends, to a first microcomputer 51, output signals including a rotational angle signal related to the rotational angle θm and a rotation number signal related to the number of rotations (TC). Since the output signals include the rotation angle signal and the rotation number signal, the rotation angle signal and the rotation number signal can be sent to the microcomputer 51 by one communication, whereby the gap of detection timings can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
【課題】制御部に送信される回転角信号と回転回数信号との検出タイミングのずれを低減可能な回転検出装置、および、これを用いた電動パワーステアリング装置を提供する。【解決手段】回転検出装置１のセンサ素子６０１、６０２は、モータ部１０の回転を検出する。回路部６１０の回転角演算部６１４は、センサ素子６０１の検出値に基づいてモータ部１０の回転角θｍを演算する。回転回数演算部６１５は、センサ素子６０１の検出値に基づいてモータ部１０の回転回数ＴＣを演算する。通信部６１９は、回転角θｍに係る信号である回転角信号および回転回数ＴＣに係る信号である回転回数信号を含む一連の信号である出力信号を第１マイコン５１に送信する。出力信号には、回転角信号および回転回数信号が一連の出力信号に含まれるので、回転角信号および回転回数信号を１回の通信でマイコン５１に送信可能であり、検出タイミングのずれを低減することができる。【選択図】 図９
