PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accident prevention system for improving an accident prevention effect by performing accident prediction with high accuracy under the consideration of driving characteristics.SOLUTION: In an accident prevention system in which an accident prevention device mounted on a vehicle is connected to a monitoring device installed on a road, the monitoring device includes: vehicle identification means for identifying a vehicle imaged by imaging means; and driving characteristic determination means for determining the driving characteristics of the vehicle by tracking the vehicle identified by the vehicle identification means, and the accident prevention device includes: vehicle situation determination means for continuously determining the position and direction of the own vehicle from detection information of detection means in accordance with the traveling situation of the own vehicle; accident prediction means for acquiring driving characteristic information of an approaching vehicle from the monitoring device, and for predicting a collision accident between vehicles from orbit information of the own vehicle and the driving characteristic information of the approaching vehicle; and warning means for warning accident prediction information predicted by the accident prediction means to the driver or passenger of the vehicle.
