PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a steering operation using a steering wheel providing a comfortable steering feeling while stabilizing behavior of a vehicle even when the steering related component position is near the neutral position.SOLUTION: A first electric power steering device 11 comprises: a steering torque sensor 25 detecting a steering torque input by a driver; a steering angle sensor 26 detecting a steering angle of a steering wheel 13; an auxiliary steering motor 27 providing an auxiliary force for a steering operation of the steering wheel 13; and a driving control part 63 controlling driving operation of the auxiliary steering motor 27 according to the steering torque and the steering angle. A torsional rigidity of a steering force transmission part ranging from the steering torque sensor 25 to the auxiliary steering motor 27 is set to exceed a reference threshold value to maintain a stable travel of a vehicle. The driving control part 63 controls the driving operation of the auxiliary steering motor 27 on the basis of the steering angle detected by the steering angle sensor 26 and hysteresis characteristics relating to a steering reaction force associated with a change of the steering angle.

【課題】操舵に係る中立位置付近であっても、車両の挙動を安定させながら快適な操舵フィーリングをもって、操舵ハンドルの操舵を遂行する。【解決手段】電動パワーステアリング装置１１は、運転者が入力した操舵トルクを検出する操舵トルクセンサ２５、操舵ハンドル１３の操舵角を検出する操舵角センサ２６、操舵ハンドル１３の操舵に係る補助力を与える操舵補助モータ２７、及び、操舵トルク及び操舵角に基づいて操舵補助モータ２７の駆動制御を行う駆動制御部６３を備える。操舵トルクセンサ２５から操舵補助モータ２７に至る操舵力伝達部の捩り剛性は、車両の安定走行を維持するための基準閾値を超えるように設定される。駆動制御部６３は、操舵角センサ２６により検出される操舵角、及び、操舵角の変化に関連付けられる操舵反力に関するヒステリシス特性に基づいて、操舵補助モータ２７の駆動制御を行う。【選択図】図１
