PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing an anti-aging agent from a rubber material, and a method for preparing a sample for an accelerated deterioration test of the rubber material by application of the removal method to the rubber material.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for removing an anti-aging agent from a rubber member, a member for a tire sidewall, or a rubber material for the sidewall, comprising contacting the outermost surface of a rubber material containing a basic anti-aging agent. Also provided is the contacting method comprising coating the outermost surface of the rubber material with a paste containing an acid so that the thickness of the coating becomes 20 to 3000 μm.
