In a winding assembly 16 actuation of a lever 19 by a single stroke length in a tensioning direction actuates a tensioner 37 for a tensioning line 10 to a tensioning position that is a reflex angular distance via a drive linkage winding mechanism with seats (42’, 92, fig 10) on tensioner 37 and lever 19 connected by a cable 53. The angular distance is approximately 300 degrees, the line unwound from a drum, and the tensioner can be a slotted spindle. The assembly can be part of a pallet lid.
