A carbonate binary precursor with a hollow structure, a preparation method therefor and use thereof. The precursor has a chemical formula of NixMn(1-x)CO3, wherein x is 0.55 to 0.92. The carbonate binary precursor with the hollow structure has the advantages of controllable particle size, uniform particle size distribution and high sphericity, and excellent electrochemical performance and energy density.
