The invention relates to a method for limiting the travel speed (v) of a vehicle when traveling through a curve (K), in which a distribution of curvature (kappa) of a road section in front of the vehicle is determined by means of a digital map, in which a distribution of permissible curve speed (v) is determined as a function of the distribution of curvature (kappa) and a physical load limit of the vehicle, and in which the vehicle is controlled, the curvature (kappa) is determined in such a way that the determined permissible curve speed (v) is not exceeded when the vehicle travels through the curve (K), by evaluating the distribution of the curvature (kappa), a section having a curvature (kappa) greater than a predefined curvature limit value (kappa lim) is identified as a curve section, local curvature maxima are identified on the identified curve section, and for each local curvature maxima, the curvature (kappa) of the curve section (kappa) of the curve section (kappa) of the curve section (kappa) of the curve section (kappa) is determined. A permissible curve velocity (v) is determined from the curvature (kappa) and the permissible lateral acceleration (aqueerzul).
