A rear view assembly is disclosed herein. The rear view assembly may include electro-optic elements, display elements, and/or sensors. The electro-optic element may include first and second substrates, an electro-optic medium, and a spectral filter. The first substrate and the second substrate may be disposed in substantially spaced apart relationship and may have a first edge and a second edge, respectively. The electro-optic medium is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spectral filter may be substantially opaque in appearance and disposed on the first substrate in a peripheral manner. In addition, the first substrate and the second substrate have a significant mismatch, where a line bisecting the first substrate does not bisect the second substrate. The display element is operable to display a digital image. The sensor is operable to sense a condition and generate a signal based thereon. In addition, the sensor may be optically aligned with the mismatch.
