The invention relates to the technical field of steering system control, in particular to a vehicle speed signal processing method and device of a steering system. The method comprises the steps that the running state of a whole vehicle is obtained, and a first vehicle speed signal and a second vehicle speed signal of a steering system are obtained; whether abnormal data exist in the first vehicle speed signal and the second vehicle speed signal or not is analyzed, and whether the running state of the whole vehicle is in an abnormal state or not is analyzed; under the conditions that abnormal data exist in the first vehicle speed signal, the first duration of the abnormal data existing in the first vehicle speed signal is longer than the first preset duration, the abnormal data does not exist in the second vehicle speed signal, and the operation state is not in the abnormal state, according to the second vehicle speed, the first vehicle speed signal and the second vehicle speed signal are detected; and the auxiliary steering torque of the steering system is obtained. By adopting the method, the problem that the accuracy of the steering torque is affected due to frequent switching of the vehicle speed signals can be solved.
