The invention relates to a vehicle and a control method thereof. A vehicle includes: a plurality of controllers; a database in which a priority for switching to an inactive state of the plurality of controllers is stored; and a main controller configured to identify whether a key of the vehicle is in an off state, identify a communication state of the vehicle when identifying that the key of the vehicle is in the off state, and transmit the communication state of the vehicle when identifying at least one of a first communication state, a second communication state, and a third communication state. Selecting a controller corresponding to the identified communication state from among the plurality of controllers on the basis of the identified communication state and the priority stored in the database, the first communication state being a state in which an active state of communication is maintained by an erroneous controller, and the second communication state being a state in which an active state of communication is maintained by an erroneous controller; the second communication state is a state in which an active state and an inactive state of communication are repeated due to an erroneous controller, and the third communication state is a state in which the active state of communication is maintained due to a noise signal, and a power supply of the controller is reset or cut off.
