A method of operating a power system may include determining a state of charge of a first battery cell and a state of charge of a second battery cell; determining a difference between a state of charge of the first battery cell and a state of charge of the second battery cell; and determining whether to discharge both the first battery cell and the second battery cell at the same time or to discharge one of the first battery cell and the second battery cell based on a difference between the state of charge of the first battery cell and the state of charge of the second battery cell. At least one of the first battery cell and the second battery cell may be a replaceable battery cell. The disclosure further relates to a power system and a computer executable code comprising instructions for operating the power system.
