The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1), in particular a motor vehicle seat, which can be transferred from at least one use position suitable for passenger transport into a non-use position, saidvehicle seat (1) comprising: a) a base (9), b) a foot (11) that is detachably connected to the base (9); c) a backrest (5) that is linked to the foot (11); d) a mechanical linkage (100) by means of which the foot (11) is linked at least indirectly to the base (9) and such that it moves relative to the base (9) for transferring the vehicle seat (1) from the use position into the non-use position, wherein the mechanical linkage (100) has a first lever (110) and a second lever (120), wherein the first lever (110) and the second lever (120) are linked pivotally to one another by means of a first rotary joint (I), and the first lever (110) is linked pivotally to the base (9), or to an adapter (9d) securely connected to the base (9), by means of a second rotary joint (II), and the second lever (120) is linked pivotally to the foot pedal (11) by means of a third rotary joint (III).
