The invention discloses a detection method for improving road traffic safety. The method comprises steps of setting red and green signal lamps and a red light stop line at an intersection, and settinga detection line at a preset distance from the stop line in a vehicle driving direction; acquiring a red light signal and judging a red light state; acquiring image information of a vehicle passing through the detection line and the stop line when the red light is turned on; and judging whether the vehicle sequentially passes through a detection line and a stop line when the red light is turned on, and if so, determining that the vehicle runs the red light. The method is advantaged in that the detection line is set by calculating the sum of the reaction distance and the braking distance of the vehicle, whether the vehicle is safely parked in time or not is judged with the detection line as a reference, and powerful evidence is provided for punishment of red light running; the situation that when the yellow light is used, whether subjective intentional yellow light rushing is difficult to define or not is avoided, buffering in the distance form replaces buffering in the time form of the yellow light, and road traffic safety is effectively improved.
本发明公开了一种提高道路交通安全性的检测方法,该方法包括:在路口设置红、绿两色的信号灯以及红灯停车线,并且在车辆行驶方向且距离停车线预设距离处设置检测线;获取红灯信号并判断红灯状态;在红灯亮起时获取车辆通过检测线、停车线的图像信息;判断所述车辆是否在红灯亮起时依次通过检测线和停车线,若是,则确定所述车辆为闯红灯。本发明通过计算车辆的反应距离和制动距离之和设置检测线,以该检测线为参照判断车辆是否来得及安全停车,为闯红灯处罚提供有力的证据;规避了使用黄灯时“是否主观故意闯黄灯难以界定”的局面,且以“距离”形式的缓冲代替了黄灯“时间”形式的缓冲,有效提高道路交通安全性。
