The invention discloses an image recognition system and method for rail transit passenger surface area estimation. The image recognition system and method are used for adjusting a vehicle-mounted intelligent air conditioner. The system comprises a camera and a vehicle-mounted computer, wherein an image preprocessing module, an image segmentation module, a feature extraction module, a height and weight estimation module and a body surface area estimation module are arranged in the computer. The method comprises the following steps: shooting an image containing a half-body image of a passenger by using a camera, processing the image by using each module in the computer, obtaining the shot body surface contour of the passenger, extracting the body surface contour characteristics, estimating the height and weight of the passenger, and further obtaining the body surface area so as to obtain the calorific value of all passengers in the area. And the intelligent air conditioner carries out air supply regulation and control according to the preset comfortable temperature and the calorific value of all passengers in the area. According to the air conditioner control method, the previous airconditioner control strategy is changed, the air conditioner is adjusted from a new angle, energy waste can be reduced, and the comfort degree of passengers can be improved.

本发明公开了一种面向轨道交通乘客表面积估算的图像识别系统及方法，用于车载智能空调的调节。本发明系统包括摄像头和车载计算机，计算机中设置图像预处理模块、图像分割模块、特征提取模块、身高体重估算模块以及体表面积估算模块。本发明方法包括利用摄像头拍摄包含乘客半身像的图像，利用计算机中各模块进行图像处理，获取所拍摄的乘客的体表轮廓，提取体表轮廓特征，估计乘客身高体重，进而获取体表面积，从而获得区域内所有乘客的发热量。智能空调根据预设的舒适温度和区域内所有乘客的发热量进行送风调控。本发明改变以往空调调控的策略，以一种新的角度来对空调进行调节，不仅能够减少能源浪费，并且能提高乘客的舒适度。
