The invention relates to a low-density high-buoyancy life buoy, which is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 37-40% of nitrile rubber, 37-40% of a polyvinyl chloride resin, 0.2-0.4% of a vulcanizing agent, 0.2-0.3% of an accelerator, 0.2-0.3% of a metal soap lubricant, 8-10% of a DOP plasticizer, 11-14% of a foaming agent, and 0.4-1% of a stearate stabilizer, wherein themixing ratio of the nitrile rubber to the polyvinyl chloride resin is 1:1. The life buoy has the advantages that the foam material formed by mixing and compression molding of NBR/PVC with the soft hand feeling density of 0.034 g/cm<3> is adopted, the design is reasonable, the use is safe, the effect is good, and the manufactured life buoy is light in weight, convenient to carry and capable of stably keeping a good buoyancy state in water.
