The invention relates to an aluminum alloy hub and a method for coating the surface of the same. The aluminum alloy hub comprises an aluminum alloy matrix and a coating attached to the surface of thealuminum alloy matrix, wherein the coating sequentially comprises a pre-coated layer formed by nickel-clad aluminum or aluminum-clad nickel, a Cr3C2 layer and a varnish layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy matrix. By spraying the Cr3C2 layer on the surface of the aluminum alloy hub, the aluminum alloy hub obtains excellent corrosion resistance.
