The invention discloses a coil-based trunk line self-optimization signal control method, which mainly relates to the field of trunk line intersection signal optimization control. Through comprehensive applications of a novel coil vehicle detection device, dynamic detection on traffic states of multiple intersections on the trunk line and signal optimization processing are realized. The method of the scheme comprises steps of coil device mounting, data acquisition and communication, trunk line self-optimization signal processing and calculation, and signal instruction release and control. The invention also provides a coil-based trunk line self-optimization signal control device. A two-dimensional active coil technology is adopted, real-time traffic states of multiple intersections on the trunk line can be accurately detected, the optimal signal control scheme is made, real-time decision making and emergency handling information are provided for traffic management and control, and the operational efficiency and the service level of the traffic of the main trunk line are enhanced.
