A vehicle control device (1) is provided with: an angle sensor (53) that detects a rotation angle of a steering system of a vehicle (2); an actuator (8) mounted on the vehicle (2); and a control device (7) that implements vehicle control by controlling the actuator (8) on the basis of a result of detection by the angle sensor (53), and is characterized in that, when the angle sensor (53) has failed, the control device (7) limits the vehicle control when an estimated angle error based on a failure time of the angle sensor (53) and the rotation speed of the steering system is equal to or greater than a preset reference value, and that, when the estimated angle error is smaller than the reference value, the control device (7) does not limit the vehicle control. Thus, the effect that the vehicle control device (1) can continue the vehicle control appropriately can be obtained.
