The invention discloses an intelligent electric terminal based train length and vehicle information automatic identification method. An intelligent electric terminal based train length and vehicle information automatic identification system comprises an information read-write device which is installed on a haulage motor, carriage intelligent terminals, a vehicle data information record and display device, an antenna and the like; the haulage motor information read-write device which is connected with the vehicle information display device is installed inside a haulage motor cab; when the haulage motor is in coupling with a carriage, the haulage information read-write device can automatically read intelligent terminal data information of every carriage and the intelligent terminal data information can be stored locally or transmitted to a display device or other devices through serial port communication; the intelligent terminals are respectively installed at the front ends and the rear ends of the haulage motor and the carriages; the intelligent terminal at the rear end of the front carriage and the intelligent terminal at the front end of the rear carriage achieve short distance communication through fixed communication frequency, the coupling relationship between the two carriages is determined, the coupling information of the adjacent carriages is automatically recorded, a haulage data reader-writer automatically reads the carriage coupling information, and the train overall length is automatically calculated according to attributes which are corresponding to carriage numbers.
