Abstract From an analysis of velocity powerspectra we found for scales smaller than 800km that the power in magnetically active regions exceeded the power in magnetically non active regions. This is in agreement with the flux tube concept, predicting the confinement of the magnetic field in small filigree structures. We also found evidence for an increase of the velocity power contribution at small scales in AR with photospheric height.
